Alannah
Counsellor
Alannah is a qualified Counsellor registered with the Australian Counselling Association. She obtained a Bachelor of Education (K-12) from Charles Sturt University in 2018, a Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology from Charles Sturt University in 2021 and a Masters of Guidance and Counselling from James Cook University in 2023.
She has worked in both primary and secondary settings, not only as a counsellor but also as a qualified educator; a skill set which brings a unique perspective. Although Alannah can work with individuals across the life span, she is particularly passionate about supporting our younger cohort to make sense of the world around them.
Alannah can provide supportive care in areas such as navigating the school environment, managing academic stress, behavioural support, building healthy relationships, and any other challenges for those with anxiety or experiencing the world through a neurodiverse lens.
She describes herself as an “army brat", which meant she spent much of her childhood moving around the country with her family. This made her appreciate the joy of travelling, and she and her husband explore new places whenever they get the chance. They also have a pet dog who they have trained to do a range of party tricks. If he isn’t showing off his tricks, he is usually sleeping, socialising, or barking at doorbells (a habit which makes Menulog ads a problem in their household!)
